With more than 30 years of experience in the field, IMEC’s administrative and teaching team is dedicated to surpass your expectations. IMEC is more than a language school focused on facilitating the acquisition of language skills through our award-winning total immersion programs. We also compliment our curriculum with a variety of cultural activities (short courses in Mexican history, Mexican culture, contemporary issues, the Mexican educational system, cultural videos, handicrafts, cooking, dancing, etc.) and travel!

Equally important is the learning that comes from living with a Mexican family during your stay. We are proud that all of our innovative techniques and methods promote authentic conversational skills, a warm and friendly atmosphere, personalized attention, and a total quality experience. At Instituto Mexicano de Español y Cultura, we customize programs for every level. Classes begin every Monday throughout the year. Classes run Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Classes have no more than five students.

Cuernavaca boasts a gorgeous semi-tropical climate, making it the ideal place to study Spanish. The city was once the personal fiefdom of the Spanish conqueror of México, Hernan Cortés. His hacienda can still be seen today on the main square, the Palacio de Cortés, which is now a local museum featuring a famous mural by the well-known Diego Rivera.

The historic zócalo, or city square, truly is the heart of the city, and the surrounding downtown area that includes the historic cathedral is great for walking, shopping, and restaurants and, in fine Mexican tradition, people watching. As Cuernavaca is the capital of the state of Morelos, the state government often sponsors concerts and other cultural activities that are free and open to the public in the zócalo. IMEC´S campus is only a short walk away from this hub activity.
